IBI ltd is a privately owned company specialising in the delivery of innovative initiatives designed to stimulate and expand indigenous SME’s. The company has recently purchased new offices in Omagh, Co Tyrone, Northern Ireland.

IBI was formed in 1995 and initially delivered the successful Business Formation Programme on behalf of The Local Enterprise Development Unit (LEDU), now part of Invest Northern Ireland. This was a business start programme aimed at experienced business people. The programme provided business opportunities and seed funding and assembled appropriate management teams to launch new high growth businesses.

At this time, IBI also recognised that many indigenous businesses, which provide much needed employment, trade on the basis of a limited product portfolio. This limited product range not only increases the company's position of risk, but also impacts upon its ability to penetrate export markets.

As a result, IBI developed their unique Product Transfer Programme, which addressed this problem by strengthening the product portfolio of indigenous businesses through linkages with overseas companies. This programme has now been delivered successfully on more than 30 occasions to Councils and Government Economic Development Departments and IBI is now the leading deliverer of such programmes within the UK.
